There is an unsaid rule of communication. If you have nothing good to add, say or suggest in any conversation. Just don’t say anything. It saves a lot of your time, brain neurons and puts you in a neutral zone.
In the end, there is no right or wrong. It is all about the side of the coin you are cheering for.
Will it not make us a hypocrite? I don’t know and don’t care.
Our life on this planet is limited. We should better spend on things to which or where we can add value and effort to. Not where we have to shove our opinions, most of the time uncalled for.
