Being born in Bihar and growing up there makes you a different human altogether.
You see everything worst apart from good.
Bihar is one of the poorest states in India.
Last few days, I have been seeing news about floods and heat waves across the country.
Some of my friends told me how power cuts are making them miserable. Many parts of our country are going through it all.
I am not trying to brag or normalize this, but anyone who lived in north Bihar 15 years back would have gone through it.
We grew up witnessing electricity as a rare occurrence and flood as every year excursion and the roads connecting my district eaten away by river and rain.
For a month, it would be like living on an island.
We will get sick, go fishing, swim, and enjoy the monsoon flood vacation.
Till 9th I studied kerosine oil lamps because there was no electricity. Waking up early to read was better advised.
What most of us have gone through in Bihar is ending up in another part of the country. It feels like a movie of the past.
PS: Things have improved now, and we do have electricity. Even flood situations have gotten better.
