Helping others is a good virtue. But not on account of hurting ourselves. We don’t have to fall for sunk cost and realize that not everyone needs help. We have to help those who want to help themselves. We are acting as a catalyst instead of a guide.
You can take thirsty to a pond, and they should feed themselves. You don’t have to throw them in the water.
